Hello from a balming 25 degrees fahrenheit......yes 25 feels great as opposed to -25 like it was last week. Maybe spring is just right around the corner? Doesn't hurt to think about it.
I have been very busy lately both at work and at home. Both of my boys have January birthdays so the past couple of weeks have been hectic. My oldest son Atli just turned 15 on thursday and he had a party here at the house yesterday with 30 kids!! They were great though, it is fabulous for them (and us) to have the whole basement to hang out, play pool, ping pong, playstation and so on. The scary part for me is that age 15 comes with a drivers permit!!! Yikes! I am just not old enough to have a kid that is driving! My younger son Gisli turned 8 on January 24th and he has allready had a small party for the neighbors but the big party is scheduled for next weekend.
Work is really busy too. I submitted a fabric line for Houston quilt market in the beginning of January and I just finished another one! Yes, I just might have 2 lines in Houston. We will have to wait and see! You will definitely get the news first.
I also finished a new strip pattern which will be available this month! I am photographing it on monday and then it will go to the printer, to be released around february 25th, I will post a photo of the quilt next week after the photography session.
Computer work has been quite challenging for me this month as you can tell on my blog:-( I was in a car accident on january 6th and severly sprained my neck, shoulder and upper back and one vertebrae shifted because of a torn ligament. We were hit from the side and luckily the car hit the front end of our car on the passenger side, if it would have happened a millisecond later, he would have come right through my door and then.....I don't even want to think about it. I had severe headaches for a couple of weeks, but with chiropractic therapy every day and rest I am slowly getting better (too slowly though for me!) I can now work on the computer for about 20 minutes at a time, then I need to take a break, change positions, apply cold pack, hot pack and so on. The worst part is that I am not allowed to work out at all yet, so that is really throwing me off. Exercise is the best thing. It just keeps me going. Well, I am allowed to walk or bike on a recumband bike for 20 minutes with no resistance, but that doesn't do it for me. I am just starting to warm up when I have to stop. For now I just visualize being able to go for a run when it starts to warm up here.
Here is more of Amma's Garden, the blues, creams and some red and green coordinates.
Have a good weekend.
I can't wait to see Amma's Garden "in person"- such a lovely floral...i feel a little inspiration coming on!
