This is my favorite quilting magazine and I hope all of you have read it. When I get my issue, I read it cover to cover and the hilarious Mark Lipinski never fails to make me laugh out loud. We totally share the same sense of humor. I was very excited to be featured in the January issue of Quilter´s Home.....or should I say....for my Journal to be featured in the magazine. It was a little scary to send my book of scribbles, swatches, clips and notes off to be photographed because it´s such a big part of you...it feels like having yourself photographed but you couldn´t make any decisions on the outcome (No hair and make up, yikes!!!) So I had no idea what page would be appearing in Quilter´s Home until I got my issue in the mail!!
Well, it was this one....one of my pattern idea scribbles. Now the pressure was on...I better get on with some of these designs since people had seen this. And I did, as I may have mentioned, I am working on a new book for spring with all Quilt As You Go patterns and it will include these projects. I have started test sewing some of them (usually not a final product) and here is one of the placemats from this particular page in the Journal!
I used a very fun fabric line from Moda that will be out in March or April called Acadia by Sanae. It is very contemporary with an interesting color palette. We will have to see if this colorway makes the book.
Thanks to all the great gals that took a class with me at Quilted Treasures in Rogers....here are a few of the Double Duty Runners that were made in 3 hrs. that night. (I was too late to bring out the camera, some had left) Didn´t they do a great job?
