Welcome to the Fall-O-Ween, Quilt Designer blog hop. For those of you that are new here, I should start by telling you a little bit about myself. My name is Gudrun and I am born and raised in Iceland. I moved to Minnesota 7 years ago with my husband Torir and 3 kids; son Atli (now 17), son Gisli (10) and daughter Svana (9 going on 15!).
My pattern company GE Designs was started in
I am very busy these days getting my new patterns ready for Quilt Market so I can't show you quite yet, but I wanted to show you a little snapshot of what I am all about. My latest book came out this past spring and is called Fast & Furious Holiday. The book has 16 different "Quilt As You Go" projects for all the different holidays. It has runners, placemats, stockings, tree skirt, ornaments, wall quilts and bags for any occasion.
There are some really fun Fall-O-Ween projects in the book! Check out these quick little treat bags you can make for Halloween. They come together super quickly whether you choose to use one fabric or a pieced look.
There is a pumpkin runner in the book that is very fast to make and then there is the Halloween wall quilt, one of my favorites!
All the projects in the blog hop should be things that you can get done quickly in time for fall or for Christmas gifts. I decided to give you a "Quilt As You Go" project, that you can get done in a couple of hours. It is a cute little runner called Corn Toss! A link to the file is found below.
PRIZES!!
Be sure to tell me what you think of Corn Toss in the comments to be able to win a Fast & Furious Holiday book along with some "super secret fat quarters"! And if you visit all the other designers in the hop and post your comment, you will be eligible for the grand prize drawing. You don't have to comment on the exact day that their project is posted, just make sure you comment at least once on every blog in the 10 days that the Blog hop runs. We would really like to hear from you every day, and you should visit all blogs each day because we are all sharing some good stories and who knows what else. You don't want to miss out on any extra prizes do you?
Here is a link to the PDF file Corn Toss Runner, I hope you enjoy!
If you have never tried the "Quilt As You Go" method, here is a link to the General Instructions
Be sure to check out all of the other designer's blogs today as they are all sharing a blog post on the daily theme which is Color. One of the biggest inspirations for me as a designer is color. I take photos of random things everywhere I go for color and design ideas and keep them in a separate folder on my computer. Then I go through them whenever I need some inspiration. My favorite fall color is Orange, so I thought I would show you some of the orange photos in my folder. Yes.....they are random...2 turtles, a bike, a grasshopper and more!!

More speculatively, it could make long-distance space travel more feasible by slowing down ageing and reducing the consumption of oxygen and food.

Our family used to take our annual vacation to the White Mountains in NH every fall. We would get so excited to be able to buy candy corn and Hershey kisses, both of which were not available in Canada at the time... it wasn't really that many years ago was it?.....lol

Isn't it amazing how many colors we label as orange. And to realize that a few hundred years ago there was no "orange" color. It was considered a "red."
I love the candy corn project. Every year at this time I have to buy a bag of those and the peanut butter kissed. They are sure coming out with some weird flavors of candy corn!
Thanks for the project plans.

The corn toss runner was super easy and quick to make and I just love it. I am giving it as a gift to our 4 year old neice. I would love to make it for other seasons and think we could also use pumpkins for our fall season. Sunflowers or Poinsettas could be done using the same pattern. Thanks again for hosting the blog and giving us a great pattern.
