Thank you for the nice comments on the new patterns. The quilts, patterns and the rest of my booth stuff is now on a pallet in transit to Portland, Oregon. It was shipped off on thursday and you would not believe the amount of sleep deprivation and exhaustion I was feeling as I sent it off. This past week is always crazy for exhibitors at market, there is always so much last minute stuff that needs to get done. I am still finishing some things up this weekend that didn't make it on the pallet, which will have to go into my suitcase. For example, I am making a bunch of Yoyo´s that I will then pin to foam balls and make topiaries for the booth, we will have to see if they will make it!!!
Just a little note to Kim and May who won the drawing for some strip patterns, I am shipping those out on monday, sorry they didn´t go sooner. Hope you like them.
As I am working on last minute things in the studio I get a great kick out of looking out my windows and watching the wildlife all around us. We moved into this new house in august and even though it is not far from my old house, it is in a new development so there are woods all around and cornfields right next you our yard. There is a large family of deer that live here and one morning they were in our backyard and I got a picture of one through my window. Then we have rabbits and raccoons, well we haven´t seen a raccoon yet, but there is lots of tracks in the mud next to our house and my 8 year old son assured me that those were raccoon tracks (and I trust him!!). We hear Coyotes at night even though we haven´t seen them, but perhaps the funniest group of animals around here are the heard of Wild Turkeys. They are probably about 50 of them together and they are huge! They were nibbling in the corn field when I took this picture, but they were crossing the road when I was driving home one day....started freaking out and trying to fly over my car!! As you can imagine, they didn´t make it very high so I was just waiting for one to come right through the windshield!
I am leaving for market on tuesday morning, but I am taking my computer with so maybe you will get a post from market. If not...I will see you when I return with lots of things to talk about.
Good luck at the market. Hope the yoyo's make it :-)

I enjoyed your wildlife pictures. I am a Southern Oregon children's writer who writes stories about raccoons. I know we have a lot of them around here but we rarely see them. I was inspired by fond memories of watching two raccoons raid our garbage cans at night when I was a child.
