Thank you for the quilt as you go place mat pattern. Tho I have quilted for many years I have not tried quilt as you go. This is now my chance to learn something new. I am now in the process of using many of the fabrics in my stach so my sewing room can grow to normal size rather than shrinking.

Both the placemats and the wallhanging from Heather are so great. Which one to do first?

Cindy in TN

I'm enjoying the blog hop. It is nice to be distracted from the heat here in Tennessee.

I saw your post yesterday and I was all excited to try your tutorial and I went to my LQS today and saw your book. It had to come home with me. I'm looking forward to making some of your projects. :)

I started the placemat last night and finished it today. It is sooooo much fun to do. I have been reluctant to do the quilt-as-you-go method....but I will be doing more. I am posting the photo to flickr tonight if you want to see it. I used some of my old fabrics for this placemat and I did a self binding with rainbow thread and small zigzag. :)

Carmen Thomas

Love the placemat pattern and am a new visitor to your blog! What a delight:) Thank you so much for coming up with this trend-setting idea! How better to get to know you all! Thanx!

No wonder your blog got congested! Sooo many comments! I am enjoying hopping and it is such a good idea to give lovely tutorials! So you "win" a pattern and a lovely idea allready without having to be "THE" winner! I am really enjoying the whole process and am looking forward to tomorrow's 'hop'! Thanks you for organising it!

The Designer Blog Hop was a great idea, Gudrun! I think I am going to show my grandson your placemat pattern and let him choose fabrics for his very own personal place mat. I'll let you know how it turns out. :-)
