This has been a big week already in this household and it is only Tuesday! The worst part is, I have been in a fog for most of it because of the sinus infection I had in the beginning of the month, returned on Friday! I guess the doctors are correct when they tell you how important it is to finish your antibiotic prescription. I don't think I have ever done that, I start to forget a dose here and there and then when there are 6 pills left, I stop thinking "what's the point when I'm feeling good"! Well, today it seems like the fog is starting to lift again so hopefully I am on the mend.
The weekend started off on Saturday when I took Svana to the Wisconsin Dells for a gymnastics meet. This is only her second meet and her first out of town meet.
She did great and got a medal for placing 4th in All Around.
On Monday it was Atli's birthday.
He turned 18!... What! ... Really?
Can this really be? Do I really have a child that is now officially an adult?
I wish I could tell you that I had him when I was 11...I'll just have to face the fact that he will always make it impossible for me to lie about my age.
...at least when he is with me..
...and when people know he is my son and not my brother...
Even more exciting than his birthday, tomorrow is signing day for high school athletes receiving scholarships for College. Yes, Atli will be signing but unfortunately I can't tell you anything about it until after tomorrow....we are sworn to secrecy!
I am so proud of him and his accomplishments. Congrats Atli, I love you to pieces. You will always be my little boy.
Today, Torir had an MRI to check if the tumor had been doing anything naughty in the last 2 months. The MRI days are always a little stressful but the news were good. The tumor is still stable so it seems like the chemotherapy is working really well. He only has 2 more rounds to go which we are super excited about. There will be a big celebration in March when he is done.
This picture of him is taken in Iceland on our trip up north. I haven't forgotten about posting from our trip....I'm working on it! Right now I am working on the next fabric line and thinking of using some new color combinations.
What are your favorite colors at the moment?
I love turquoise/brown; turquoise/lime green; purple/lime green;

What a beautiful family! Someday you might even have a 30 year old ... that was a hard one for me to follow. I am a mom of three, 30, 28, and 20. And I am only 30 ... well at heart anyway!

What beautiful and talented kids! Glad life is good.
I really like turquoise blue and rosey red right now. I know it's all the "rage" but I still like it!

Beautiful pictures. I know how you feel, my daughter is 25 and I still wonder how that happened. Everything I'm working on now seem to be blue and green. They are very peaceful together. I did make a baby quilt in lavender and mint green, beautiful together.

You do have some cute kids! I can see where they get their looks. Gorgeous parents make gorgeous children. I'm so happy for Torir (and all of you.) I'll keep my fingers crossed that all goes well.
As far as colors, I'm thinking of lime green and pink. Maybe it's just wishful thinking that spring might arrive soon.

I have been dreaming of reds and grays...and I have searched and there is NOTHING in that color range... How can that be? What cute kids... I have an 18 year old and he is my third!! So that makes me ancient...

Blue! However, I haven't a blue project in the house. Absolutely, must get one started because at the moment I am into blue.
Your children are lovely. Do not let the 18 year old cause you "age" problems - just tell people he is advanced for his young age! Happy quilting!
